Custom builds & rehab

Have an idea? We'll design and build it.

Two things live under this roof

  1. bespoke equipment fabrication for anyone with a need the standard catalogue doesn't cover
  2. rehabilitation equipment built specifically for biokinetics, physios and hospital rehab teams.

Both are designed in-house by draftsmen, engineers and a doctor, not just welded together.

Purpose-built

Not everything fits a catalogue. Some things need to be designed.

We run a dedicated custom builds division for clients who have an idea, a specific problem, or an existing piece of equipment they want modified to suit them — and a separate line of rehabilitation equipment purpose-built for biokinetics, physios and hospital rehab teams working with patients returning from injury.

Both are designed the same way as everything else we build: with in-house draftsmen, engineers and a doctor involved, not just fabricated on a hunch.

These are two different audiences with two different needs, so this page is split into two halves below — one for bespoke fabrication, one for rehab and biokinetics equipment. If you're not sure which one fits what you need, get in touch and we'll work it out with you.

Not just filling floor space

You bring the idea. We design around it.

If you have something in mind that doesn't exist in our catalogue. A piece of equipment for a specific movement, a modification to something you already own, a station built to fit a space or a use case nobody else has asked us about — that's exactly what this division exists for.

"We also have another division that we opened for, let's say, you have something and you want to build it or you want to modify a piece of equipment to suit you. We have in-house draftsmen and we have engineers that can work with you. We have a lot of people involved in producing equipment, doctor included, because it's not just about welding stuff and throwing stuff together. Everything must be calculated and you need to work with the right muscles."

Werner Dreyer, Founder

The process is straightforward.

1.

Tell us what you need

An idea, a problem you're trying to solve, or a piece of equipment you already own that needs modifying — a brief conversation is enough to start.

2.

We design it properly

Our draftsmen and engineers work out how it needs to be built, with input from our doctor on the movement and muscle patterns it needs to support — the same rigour that goes into everything we manufacture, applied to something that's never existed before.

3.

We build it in-house

From steel to bushings to final assembly, the same workshop and the same standards as the rest of our catalogue.

4.

It's backed the same way everything else is

Same warranty, same installation approach, same long-term relationship. A custom build isn't a one-off side project, it's a permanent part of what you own.

Dedicated ranges

Built for return-to-play, not general fitness.

We build a range of rehabilitation equipment specifically for biokinetics, physios and hospital rehab teams, designed for patients recovering from injury or surgery, not general strength training. This equipment prioritises controlled, joint-friendly and isolated loading over the raw force our high-performance range is built for.

"We also do a bit of work with the rehabilitation guys. That's usually very specific for the needs of the biokinetics and the physios and the guys that work in hospitals, people that were in accidents and like that."

Werner Dreyer, Founder

It's a smaller, more specialised slice of the business, but it gets the same engineering attention as everything else, including some of the same instinct that led to a dedicated range of foot-training equipment once weak feet turned out to be behind a wide range of injuries.

Four groups of equipment, built around recovery.

Every rehab build is different, but most of what we supply to biokinetics, physios and rehab teams falls into four groups.

Make it uniquely yours

Every build starts with the body, not the steel.

A bespoke piece for a facility and a rehab machine for a biokinetics practice both start with the same question: what movement, what muscle, what angle is this actually meant to train or protect.

That's why draftsmen, engineers and a doctor are involved before anything gets fabricated. A custom or rehab build that isn't designed around the body it's meant to serve isn't worth building.

It's also why a custom build or a piece of rehab equipment gets the same standard as everything else we manufacture: the same steel, the same in-house parts, the same warranty. A one-off piece isn't a lower priority than a catalogue product. If anything it gets more attention, because it's solving a problem nothing else on the market does.

Frequently asked questions

What kinds of custom builds do you take on?

Anything from a brand-new piece of equipment designed around a specific movement or problem, to modifying something you already own so it does something it currently doesn't. If it doesn't exist in our catalogue, that's exactly what this division is for.

Is a custom build only for facilities, or can I get something built for my home gym or a small project?

Custom builds aren't limited to large facility projects. If you have a specific need, we'll talk it through regardless of scale. See Home Gym if what you need is closer to a standard single-station setup.

Who is the rehab equipment range built for?

Biokinetics, physios and hospital rehab teams working with patients recovering from injury or surgery. It prioritises controlled, joint-friendly loading over general strength training.

Can you modify equipment I already own instead of building something new?

Yes. Modifying existing equipment to suit a new need is one of the most common things this division does. Tell us what you have and what you're trying to achieve.

What's the warranty on a custom build or rehab equipment?

The same as everything else we build: manufacturing defects are repaired or replaced, and equipment that's been abused is repaired as cost-efficiently as possible rather than refused outright. See Warranty for the full policy.
